Dalry wedding photographer, Chloé Timms of Chloe Jane Wedding Photography.

When it comes to weddings, I spend a large part of the day shooting in a documentary style. This means that after your wedding, the images you receive tell the story of your day through my eyes.

Not only are all the main events are captured, but also all those in-between moments that made your day so special. I want to capture the real atmosphere and essence of your amazing wedding.

The beauty of shooting in a documentary style, is that your pictures will have a natural, authentic feel to them, and will be all the more beautiful for it.

When I am booked for a wedding, I like to spend 10 hours with you. I will start when you like and then finish 10 hours later. The timings are something that we can discuss when you know the timeline of your wedding day.

Preference is usually for me to come earlier and leave earlier, meaning I focus more on the morning preparations than your rather merry guests in the evenings.  Alongside the bridal preperations is also the time when I photograph all the pretty details, such as the rings, shoes and flowers.

The only parts of your day that are not photographed in a documentary style are the group shots, couples shots and then some parts of the evening.

For obvious reasons the group shots are choreographed, then I like to do a mixture of part natural and part choreographed for the couples shots. Some people can be very natural in front of the camera for the couples shots, while others need a little guidance. We will still be looking to get some gorgeous natural couples shots, along with a few looking at the camera to satisfy the grandparents!

In the evening as well as documentary style, I tend to invite your guests to have their picture taken. This means that you get some informal group shots involving people that may not have made the cut for your formal pictures. This is also great for guests who are only attending the evening, or of course groups of friends or couples. If you would rather that I just shot in a documentary style then this is no problem, you just need to let me know.
