My day as a Barcaldine Castle wedding photographer for Paul & Heidi! This wonderful duo travelled all the way from Arizona, for their dream Scottish wedding!
With just five people in attendance, it was an intimate celebration, but incredibly special. There were so many thoughtful and unique touches throughout the day and they were so much fun to spend time with.
We started the morning at Barcaldine Castle, where the couple were staying and getting ready. The ceremony then took place at the stunning St Conan’s Kirk, on the shores of Loch Awe. There was a string quartet playing and they even had an owl as their ring bearer! It was all rather magical!
After the ceremony, we made the most of the incredible surroundings at St Conan’s Kirk and Loch Awe. I had already planned scenic stops for the way back to Barcaldine Castle, meaning we could make the most of some different backdrops for the pictures (and for Blue Juice Media’s wedding video).
After the wedding breakfast, the light outside was absolutely stunning! We went back outside for a second couples shoot and I’m so pleased that we did! They were some of my favourite shots from the whole day!
Every person attending the wedding got a mention in Paul’s speech! I got kind words and an absolute roasting, in equal measure! We still stay in touch and are planning a reunion when the couple come back over for a visit! Making friends along the way is something that is very wonderful about this job!
A huge shoutout to the dream team of suppliers: Barcaldine Castle, St Conan’s Kirk, Blue Juice Media, The Thistle & The Rose, LeeAnne Fraser Makeup Artist, Natalie’s Cupcakery, Highland Weddings, The Cleveden Quartet, Alyson Steward Humanist, and Harmony Bagpiping.
If you are on the hunt for your Barcaldine Castle wedding photographer then I would love to hear from you! I know the venue and other local locations that you may like to explore!
