Being a Loch Awe elopement photographer is always an adventure, but this one was a little more adventurous than usual! G&C asked me to hike 1.5 hours up a hill to reach the perfect ceremony spot, looking out towards a beautiful waterfall. They traveled in their camper van, and we all hiked together (me, the couple, their celebrant, and a few close family members).
When we reached the top, the bride got into her wedding dress, carefully chosen so it wouldn’t crease during the travel! Everyone else got into their wedding outfits, and then out of the bags came a full wedding setup: a beautiful cake, a picnic with all the bride’s favourite childhood snacks, and bottles of champagne, all thoughtfully chosen by the family. I was completely shocked that they had produced such an amazing spread of food from backpacks and also at how smart everyone looked after such a hike! It was so windy on the hill that I got blown over!
The ceremony was made all the more intimate by the high wind meaning it was hard to hear what was being said!
After the ceremony we adventured along to the waterfall, which made for stunning pictures! I wish I could share more from this wedding, but sometimes due to work, I have to keep the pictures to a cryptic snippet. This was a wow wedding for me and one that I will always remember very fondly!
This truly was a Loch Awe elopement adventure!
